where the classics never go out of style

My friend Tim has requested a post about Victor Buono. I wish I knew more about Buono. I know very little except for the fact that I always found him to be very, very funny. Here is Buono in my favorite of his two Odd Couple appearances. I love his reaction to Felix’s use of the word “ghost.”

Buono was also a poet. In 1972, he published a book of his poetry entitled, It Could Be Verse. Here’s a sample of his eloquence:

“Hope is a thing with feathers perched in the soul all day:

It does its little business, and then it flies away.”

And finally, not only one of my favorite episodes of the classic sitcom Taxi, but what I believe to be one of the best sitcom episodes ever . . . of any sitcom! Victor Buono as Reverend Jim’s father.
